Integrated design and manufacture :

With its two traction transformer production sites, one based in France, and the other in India, JST transformateurs masters design and production of the major transformer components through its subsidiaries ISOTRANSFO (Portugal) for insulation pieces, and WELTECH (Poland) for steel tank transformers.

High-speed trains

High-speed trains are beginning to compete with air transport as an efficient mode of transport for medium distances. Operators need equipment that is able to meet new interoperability requirements.
Our expertise in all industrial, economic and operational areas means we can rise to these challenges as part of our continuous efforts towards safety and reliability:

• Optimisation of weight and size.
• Proficiency in dynamic behaviours and sound levels.

We offer one of the flattest transformers on the market (< 600 mm high): this lowers the centre of gravity and makes it possible to house transformers in a very small space.

Rail motor vehicles (EMUs)

One major priority common to all of today’s industrialized, emerging, and developing countries is the creation and implementation of land development plans and transport policies. The ability to ensure optimal urban and interurban transport services has thus become a main objective. The installation of transformers that are under frame or roof mounted frees up space for passengers, their luggage, etc.

Our transformers’ space-saving, lightweight design leads to increased passenger capacity, and greater comfort.
Under frame transformers provide:

• Natural resistance to short-circuits, vibrations and mechanical shocks
• Reduced size and weight
• Greater reliability
• Low noise and maintenance levels
• Good electromagnetic compatibility

 Our transformers offer an optimal weight/power ratio of less than 1 tonne/MVA.

Locomotives

A large-scale, reliable railway network for the transport of passengers and freight is essential to the economic development of a country.
Locomotives are the source of electric traction and JST transformateurs has accrued over 60 years of experience in this field due to our involvement in the BB locomotive programme for the SNCF, supplying multi-frequency and multi-voltage transformers with or without the re use of traction windings such as inductors.
